I know...it's been over a month since I last blogged. We have just been too busy having fun to blog. September has been so busy I am ready for a quiet October. HAHAHA I crack myself up. What am I thinking? The rest of the year is only going to stay busy if not get busier with the holidays.
Our September started out with a week and a half long trip to Texas. It was so much fun! We got to go to the BYU vs. Oklahoma football game. What a game!!! It was so AWESOME!!! It made up for missing out on going to the BYU vs. Utah game. You know the one when Jonny Harline was wide open!?! On our way into the game we got to meet Ty Detmer. We even got his picture. The game was on Saturday and it was Tuesday before Justin's voice was back to normal. :)
The day after the game we headed to Silsbee where Kir, Chris, Gunnar and Josh live to spend the week with them. We miss them already. We have too much fun with them. The week went by too fast.
On Labor Day we headed to Galveston for the day. Well, you can't go to Galveston without eating at Rain Forest Cafe. After we finished eating we headed over to Crystal Beach. The kids were so excited! Neither of them had been to the beach before. Thirty minutes into playing on the beach and in the ocean Jakson came running out of the water crying, "I am stinging all over! It keeps spreading!" I thought he was kidding since we had been warning him about the jelly fish. Unfortunately, he wasn't kidding. He got stung all over! It was from his back, to his stomach, to his arm. The arm got it the worst! He still has a scar. Poor kid! We are pretty sure he got stung by more than one jelly fish.
The following day Madison was out playing in the sandbox and got attacked by fire ants! She still has little scabs and scars all over her feet. As Chris put it, "Texas kicked our butts!"
The following Saturday we (being everyone but Jakson, Gunnar, and Chris) got up early and headed out the door for New Orleans. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to go to another BYU football game! The BYU vs. Tulane game wasn't wuite as exciting as the Oklahoma game but it was exciting and fun in its own way. :)
Our trip ended way too fast!!! Hopefully, it won't be another three years before we get to go again.

September was crazy, but good crazy! What a whirlwind, exciting, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Besides the kids getting attacked by everything Texas has to offer, we couldn't have asked for any better family bonding time! Loved it!
